Well, it's been an interesting week,
and should stay that way until I get out of Egypt,
This place is a land of extremes,
Rich v Poor
Friendly v Tourist touts
Beauraucratic follow the book by the law government
deprartments v non
existent road rules
You name it, you can find it in EGypt,,, and
in the next street, the exact
opposite,
Since lqst writing Laura has flown in to visit
and so we have kept ourselves
quite busy,
We made our way out to the pyramids which was
very impressive, When you look
at these structures you can't help but wonder
how they built them,
Nice plqce, except for the hassle- even from some
of the tourist police,
Yesterday we went out to the Fayoum Oasis with
a group of desert riders for
a braai,
Me on the bike, Laura in the car with Omar and
Arian,
We had an awesome day although we both struggled
a bit in the afternoon from
mild heat stroke,
The enduro training I did while still in the UK
paid its dividends as not
only was I able to keep up with the other bikers,
but also have a good play
in the sand; jumps drop-offs dunes etc, were no
problems at all,
We were late coming back to Cairo and as a result
I got to break my first
rule of the African road; never drive at night-
especially in Cairo on a
motorbike,
Not something I would recommend,
ps pls excuse the typing, I am using an old French
configured keyboard,
