Well, its bloody hot
here.
Spent Monday relaxing on the banks of the Nile and
yesterday chasing bike
parts, which went well (see Spare
Parts: African Style), until I got my bike
washed. Water in the wrong place meant she wouldn't
start and then for some
strange reason, my clutch cable overheated and the
housing melted, so
seizing up the clutch.
So poor old Roni was unceremoniously dumped in the
back of a bakkie and
taken back to my campsite.
Fortunately, I had a spare clutch cable, so I replaced
that and everything
was back to normal.
Although, as I have discovered today, central Khartoum
in the midday sun is
not the place for my bike.
Roni bithced and moaned in the heat today and not
only melted the 2nd clutch
cable, but blew her fuse as well!
Talk about temperamental!
Anyway, I fixed the second cable and have decided
to keep her parked up in
the shade and out of stop-start traffic.
